Exhibition marks Vietnam-RoK diplomatic ties

(VOV) - An exhibition to mark the 20th anniversary of Vietnam-Republic of Korea (RoK) diplomatic ties opened in An Giang Province on November 6.

Present the event were, Korean Consul General in HCM City, Kim Jae Chon and representatives from the Korean Tourism Organization in Vietnam attended the event, along with delegates from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the National Administration of Tourism, as well as leaders of some Mekong Delta provinces.

Twenty five photographs from the RoK and 61 from Vietnam are on display at the exhibition, featuring their cultures and bilateral diplomatic ties. Highlights include photos of former Vietnamese Foreign Minister Nguyen Manh Cam and former Korean Foreign Minister Lee Sang Och signing the decision to establish diplomatic ties on December 22, 1992, and, former Korean President Kim Young Sam receiving former Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet in the RoK from May 13-16, 1993, as well as pictures of the Hung Kings Festival, Ha Long Bay and “Hoi An ancient town in Vietnam and springtime in Bomun and Hyeopjae Beach in Jeju, Korea.

The event, which will last until December 6, aims to help the people of An Giang province gain a better understanding of the RoK and its people, and promote Vietnam’s images to international friends.
