National Assembly adopts important laws

(VOV) - On November 25, National Assembly (NA) deputies passed 5 laws, including the revised criminal code, the revised maritime law, the law on temporary custody and detention, the law on referendums, and the law on fees and charges. 

These laws will contribute to protecting human and citizens’ rights, the socialist regime, and the interests of the state, organizations, and individuals. 

The same day, the NA is also schedule to vote on the Resolution on the ratification of the Protocol amending the agreement establishing the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the draft law on the organisation of criminal investigation agency, and discuss the draft Law on Associations. 

Earlier, the deputies approved the revised Civil Procedure Code and the revised administrative procedure law.

They elected Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc to be Secretary General and head of the National Assembly Office of the 13th National Assembly and approved 4 vice-chairpersons and 16 members to the National Electoral Council.

Chairman of the National Electoral Council Nguyen Sinh Hung said the Council would do whatever was necessary to make the May 22 election a success.

On November 26, 2015, NA deputies will vote on the Resolution on exercising bailiff regulations, the Law on Professional Military Personnel and Defence Workers, and debate the draft revised Law on the Press.
