Pham Thi Phuong and Nguyen Van Cuong delivered a technically superb performance in the Female Self-Defence event, outclassing four other couples and taking a gold medal.

The silver and bronze medals went to Vilay Nang-Chiveak Sokhom of Cambodia and Harik Adi-Puspita of Indonesia, respectively.

In the Leg Attack Techniques event, four Vietnamese artists: Nguyen Van Cuong, Phan Ngoc Toi, Nguyen Binh Dinh and Huynh Khac Nguyen, bagged another gold medal for the host country.

In the morning, Vovinam artists also began Combat competitions for both males and females in the 55kg weight category. Vietnamese artists qualified for the final round and they are expected to carry off another two gold medals in the evening.
