Australian navy ship to dock in Danang for 5-day visit

(VOV) - The Royal Australian Navy ship HMAS Sirius, carrying a crew of 62 officers and sailors, will dock at the Danang Port on October 30 to begin a five-day visit, Danang City’s Information and Communication Department has unveiled in a news release.
During the visit, the ship’s officers and crewmen will meet with the leaders of Danang Municipal People’s Committee and hold training exercises with the Zone 3 Naval High Command.
The five-day stop will also allow the sailors on-board to explore the Vietnam culture and sights.
The HMAS Sirius is a double-hulled commercial tanker converted to a fleet replenishment vessel that was built by the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in the Republic of Korea and has just completed successful exercises in the Indian Ocean.
HMAS Sirius has a full load displacement of 46,775 tons and is 191.3 metres in length. Its top speed is 30.6 km/h (19.0 mph) and it has a range of 16,000 nautical miles.
