The Vietnamese team gained four gold medals, one silver and one bronze at the Thailand Open International Judo Tournament on July 9-10.

With the results, the team ranked second, only one silver less than the winning team from the Republic of Korea. Nguyen Thi Kieu from Vietnam won the best player title of the tournament.

Leaders of the Vietnamese team said that Vietnamese players made significant progress, particularly while competing with strong rivals in the region.

The tournament attracted 237 players from 21 countries and territories, of which 10 Southeast Asian countries took part in the event.

After the tournament, Judo players will prepare for the International Judo Tournament in Ho Chi Minh City in early August and the Southeast Asia Judo Champions in late August in Cambodia.
