The move, which will be hosted by the Hanoi city People’s Committee and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, aims to raise public awareness of the adverse impact of plastic bags on the living environment.

It is part of the annual campaign, which is expected to help people change their habit of using plastic bags in their daily life by using decomposing and friendly bags. 

The highlights of the festival will include a procession, bicycle ride, performances on ideas and models to promote awareness of the harmful effects of plastic bag, while rubbish collection will be also held. 

This year’s campaign is scheduled to last three months, from October to December, in 29 districts of the capital city.
