Vietnamese embassies in many countries have carried out activities to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2).

The embassy in Egypt organised a meeting with the Vietnamese community on August 30. During the event, Ambassador Le Tien Ba called for the community’s further practical contribution to national construction and development. Mr Ba also recalled Vietnam’s hard struggle for national independence and the country’s achievements during the process of regional and international integration.

The Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar, Phung The Long, met with local authorities and Vietnamese guest workers in the country during a get-together on August 29.
He affirmed the Party and the State’s consistent foreign policy of willingness and determination to expand friendship and cooperation with all countries, including Qatar.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Algeria on August 30 held a meeting to cerebrate National Day with the participation of representatives from a number of Algerian ministries, international organisations, the Algeria-Vietnam Friendship Association and the Vietnamese community.


Ambassador Vu Van Du thanked the Algerian Government and people for their assistance to Vietnam during the past struggle against foreign aggressors and the current national construction and defense.
The diplomat spoke highly of the traditional cooperation and friendship between the two countries, and expressed his hope that relations between Vietnam and Algeria will further develop.

Honourary President of the Algeria-Vietnam Friendship Association Hassani Abdelkarim highlighted the Vietnamese people’s revolutionary cause under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the late President Ho Chi Minh during the past struggle for independence, as well as the achievements they have made during the current Renewal process.

During a ceremony held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium, the embassy staff and Vietnamese people residing in Belgium, Luxembourg, France and the Netherlands donated EUR1,450 to flood victims in Vietnam.
