Vietnam is expected to host the World Women's U-20 Football Championship in 2012.

The National Sports Administration is considering the estimated funding figures for improving the infrastructure, ensuring security, health care service, broadcasting and other preparations at the four stadiums FIFA has chosen.

According to FIFA officials, Vietnam is a potential candidate to host the event. However, apart from My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, the three remaining sites – Lach Tray in Hai Phong, Thong Nhat in HCM City and Pleiku in Pleiku City – must be uppgraded.

The tournament will involve the top 16 international teams, providing an excellent opportunity for Vietnam, if it is elected, to promote its image to the world.
