The overseas Vietnamese (OV) in France have held a number of activities to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi.

Since late 2009, many advertising and promotional activities have taken place in Perpignan, Clermont Ferrand, Poitiers, Paris, Lyon, Toulouse and Marseille.

The Ambassador to France, Le Kinh Tai praised the OV community’s activities in response to the millennium celebrations, including publishing the book “99 years – a journey”.

The OV Association in France will join a ceremony to mark the event on September 24 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris and hold a concert in late July. They will also work with the Centre for Information and Documentation (CID) in France and the France-Vietnam Friendship Association to organise an exhibition on Thang Long-Hanoi.
