Ten environmentalists around the world, including Nguyen Thi Phuong Dzung from Vietnam, were honoured at the Whitley Awards Ceremony, which was held at UK Royal Geographical Society in London on May 12.

Ms Dzung has made great contributions to protecting and combating rare and precious animal smuggling.

The Whitley award is one of British distinctions reserved for individuals actively engaged in protecting the environment and ecology. Every year, ten people receive the Whitley awards, each worth £30,000.
