IPU President Saber Chowdhury said expectations in terms of content have been met during the five-day meeting.

Chowdhury highlighted the IPU's new approach that focused on a solution for issues rather than defining it. With each resolution adopted, parliamentarians, as representatives of the people, wished to transform lives of people worldwide.

Good lessons have been learned from Vietnam, he said while extolling the country’s great efforts in making thorough preparations for the international parliamentary event.

Under the theme "The Sustainable Development Goals: Turning Words into Action", the IPU-132 Assembly running from March 28 to April 1 covered 70 sessions, with a focus on cyber warfare, gender equality, health care for women and children, sustainable development, combating threat of terrorism, and water governance among others.
