AusAID, WB starts Leaders of Success Training Program

The Leaders of Success Training Program to improve leadership skills for nearly 80 senior Vietnamese officials opened in Hanoi on September 5.

The program was organized by the World Bank in cooperation with Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), the Thanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, and PACE Institute of Leadership and Management.

Funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), the program aims to provide a unique forum for Vietnamese leaders to learn global cutting-edge leadership techniques to provide practical solutions to their biggest challenges.

“Leading people, teams and organizations to success is particularly important now as Vietnam is entering a new phase of development.” said Victoria Kwakwa, Country Director for the World Bank in Vietnam.

“The participants joining the course are emerging leaders of Vietnam, and we hope that the exposure to modern leadership practices through the course will enhance their contribution to Vietnam’s continued success.”

The program is run by international and local facilitators to add the richness of perspectives.

“The Leadership Training program is a great example of the World Bank and Australia's collaboration in supporting Vietnam's leadership development” said AusAID Vietnam Counsellor, Mark Palu.

“Australia recognises the importance of finding and nurturing good leaders, who can later contribute to national reform agendas and development. And we trust that the World Bank and its partners, including those from Australia, will bring together a pool of experience and innovative ideas for current and future leaders in Vietnam”.
