The Mekong Delta province of An Giang has earned US$600 million from exports and is expected to net US$750 million for the whole year, US$100 million more than this year’s target and US$210 million compared to last year. Average monthly export earnings total US$65 million, US$18 million higher than last year’s figure.

Many businesses in the province have sourced and exported goods to the European market, including seafood – a key export product which accounts for 48 percent of the provincial total export value. In the past nine months, seafood exports have increased by 27 percent over the same period last year.

It is estimated that exports in the fourth quarter will still enjoy favourable conditions, especially seafood products. Prices of tra and basa catfish rose from US$2.7 per kilogram in September to US$3.4 – US$3.4 per kilogram at present.
