A delegation of the Party, State, National Assembly, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front led by Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, laid a wreath at President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in commemoration of the late President.

Sixty four years ago on September 2, president Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam – the first of its kind in Southeast Asia.

The delegation also laid a wreath at the Monument of Fallen Combatants on Bac Son road to pay tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives for national independence and freedom.
