Deputy PM meets Japanese Cabinet Chief

VOV.VN - Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung met with Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga in Tokyo on November 16 as part of his trip to Japan.

The two sides agreed to conduct more high level visits, especially in preparation for the visit to Vietnam by the Emperor of Japan and the Japan’s visit by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc next year.

Dung said Vietnam considers Japan a leading important partner and wish to promote bilateral ties for peace, stability, cooperation and development.

Both sides expressed delight at the vigorous growth of the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership over the years, especially in the field of economy. 

The Vietnamese Government and people want to reinforce the bilateral relationship for the interests for mutual benefit and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region, Dung told his guest.

He thanked the Japanese Government and people for their official development assistance (ODA) to Vietnam, helping the country with socio-economic development and poverty development over the years. 

The Deputy PM said the two nation boast huge potential for broaders cooperation while asking Japan to continue supporting Vietnam in economy, energy, human resources development, climate change response and poverty reduction; increase its direct investments in Vietnam and help the country implement key infrastructure projects. 

The Cabinet Chief affirmed his nation's readiness to join hands with Vietnam in high-quality infrastructure development, energy, human resources development, railway projects, coal thermoelectricity and airport construction.
