Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung applauded cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Japan as well as charitable and humanitarian activities of goodwill ambassador Sugi Ryotaro for disadvantaged Vietnamese children in recent times, while receiving the ambassador in Hanoi on March 2.

Mr Dung said the ambassador’s activities have helped contribute to boosting friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between the two countries’ people, particularly for young people.

The Government and people of Vietnam will do their utmost to further develop relations with Japan in all areas of economics, trade, investment, tourism, culture, education, science and technology and diplomacy, said Mr Dung.

He expressed hope that Mr Sugi will carry out more goodwill activities in the future to boost the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Sugi said that his visit to Vietnam is aimed at promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries and organising a film making contest for Hanoi students.
