Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh sent best wishes to Vietnamese children both at home and abroad and said he hopes that they will be obedient, talented pupils and useful people on the Mid Autumn festival.

Mr Manh attended the Full-moon festival at the Hanoi Children’s Palace on September 21 and wished all children a happy festival. He also praised the local authorities, social organisations, parents and teachers.

The festival attracted nearly 2,000 children, including more than 1,000 disadvantaged children living and studying in Hanoi.

The night was bustling and jubilant with a wide range of activities, such as lion dances, a lantern parade, Thang Long drums and songs and dances. Characters which are familiar with children, such as dragons, the man in the moon and Phoebe gave the evening a Full-moon atmosphere to welcome the capital’s millennium birthday.

Party leader Manh presented gifts to 23 talented children from Hanoi and handed out mid-autumn festival cakes and fruit to the children.

*** More than 140 disabled children in Hoa Binh village, Thanh Xuan district gathered for their Full-moon festival. They received a lot of affection from local people.

The festival was a chance for every family to pay more care to their children as well as disadvantaged ones in society.
