Poliburo member and permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Secretariat Truong Tan Sang on September 9 met with a delegation from the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance (JVFPA) headed by its President Takebe Tsutomu.

President Takebe said that the alliance’s visit aims to strengthen cooperative relations between the two countries’ legislative bodies and between the JVFPA and the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Parliamentary Group.

He pledged to work with Vietnam to successfully implement a number of agreements and joint projects between the two countries.

For his part, Sang said that Vietnam’s policies attach a great deal of importance to developing comprehensive relations with Japan

He spoke highly of effective cooperation between the two legislative bodies and the two parliamentary organisations, which, he said, contributed to the two countries’ strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia.

He said he hopes that Takebe would continue to further strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two legislative bodies.
