Chess star to play in UAE
Super Grandmaster Le Quang Liem will take part in the Fujariah International Chess Championship, which kicked off in the UAE on November 13.
Liem who reached his peak at 39th in the world this week will compete for a prize of US$15,000.
HCM City-born player said many strong rivals had registered, including Vassily Ivanchuk of Ukraine, Mickey Adams of England, Vachier-Lagrave of France and Bruzon Bastista of Cuba.
The championship will be played in nine rounds according to the Swiss System, to conclude on November 22.
