The fourth international conference on competition laws and policies in eastern Asian countries was opened by the Ministry of Trade in Hanoi, on May 3.

It attracted officials from nearly 20 regional countries and territories, including China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Mongolia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Brunei, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.

The conference provides participants with an overview of the development and the execution of competition laws and policies in 20 regional countries.

As the host, the Competition Management Department will together with domestic and foreign experts assess Vietnam’s competition laws and policies.

Since 2004, to strengthen co-operation and to exchange information and experiences in developing and implementing competition policies, competition agencies in eastern Asian countries have rotationally hosted the annual conference with support from the Asian Development Bank and the Japanese Trade Committee.
