Historical records on Hoi An on display

Nearly 80 documents recording the history of the Hoi An ancient town, a UNESCO-recognised world heritage site in the central province of Quang Nam, are being showcased at an exhibition that opened in the town’s museum on June 6.
Nguyen Van Son, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of the Hoi An town said, the exhibition forms part of the activities in the framework of the 2017 Quang Nam Heritage Festival.
Besides introducing Hoi An’s history, the event also aims to help the public and researchers have an insight of the Nguyen Dynasty’s woodblocks and Chau ban.
Woodblocks of the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945) were recognised by the UNESCO as part of the World Documentary Heritage in July, 2009 and Chau ban were included in the World Documentary Heritage in the Asia-Pacific region in May, 2014.
The exhibition runs until June 14 at the Hoi An Museum.
