A Vietnamese-funded project to build a training centre for Laos’ trade union officials has been launched in Vientiane.

The 1,500-sq.m centre, which costs VND12 billion is funded by the Vietnamese General Confederation of Labour to provide accommodations for 200 trade union trainees.

The training centre - a symbol of the Vietnam-Laos special relationship - is scheduled for completion in March 2009.
