President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Vu Xuan Hong received representatives of the American Council of Young Political Leader (ACYPL) on November 15.

The President said he hoped that during their time in Vietnam from November 13-23, young American political leaders will have more chances to understand about the Southeast Asian culture, people and landscape.

He also briefed about the current situation of Vietnam and the activities of the Vietnamese legislative body, the VUFO, and the Vietnam-US Association in boosting the friendship between the two countries.

ACYPL was established in 1966 to implement delegation exchange with many countries in the world.

The council’s objectives are to help young political leaders at all levels join in international activities and gain experience in legislative, executive and judiciary activities.

Their visit to Vietnam aims to continue the implementation of their exchange programmes with the Vietnam-US Association to help young politicians learn more about the two countries.
