Laos, Vietnam foster national defence cooperation

Host and guest compared notes on situations in each country and discussed measures to boost bilateral defence ties by nurturing a peaceful and friendly borderline between the two countries.

Lao Defence Minister Sengnoune Sayalath thanked the Vietnamese government, army and people for their valuable support for Laos’ past struggle for national liberation as well as the current process of national construction and defence in the country.

At present, special working groups are conducting their joint mission to search for remains of fallen combatants who died in Laos during the war.

Vietnam is also helping Laos in training military officials and implementing a number of infrastructure and welfare projects.
