China’s Li Ning sponsors Vietnamese athletics
Chinese sports equipment producer Li Ning has inked a five-year sponsorship contract with the Việt Nam Athletics Federation (VAF).

The contract, which is valued at VND5 billion (US$217,000) from 2016-21. Each year, Li Ning will sponsor some VND1 billion (US$43,500) for the national athletic team’s jerseys, shoes, hats and backpacks.
“It is the first time, Vietnamese athletics has received sufficient sponsorship. It will be a great driving force for athletes to train and compete to bring home glory,” Nguyen Manh Hung, vice-general secretary of the VAF, said.
