Remains of soldiers killed in Laos return home

VOV.VN - The remains of 30 Vietnamese soldiers killed in Laos during the revolutionary war were interred with the full military honours due to them Tuesday (May 23) at the Tong Khao Cemetery inthe province of Dien Bien.

Local residents line the streets to watch the military funeral procession as it passes carrying the remains of soldiers to their final resting place.

In a speech at the memorial service, Major Duong Tien Dung says that despite the best effort of scientists the remains are unidentified except one for one soldier identified as Van Hinh.

Today is a day to give thanks, to pay tribute and to remember these and all the brave soldiers  who gave their lives to protect our country, says Major Dung.
