The National Assembly’s External Relations Commission held its 18th general meeting in Hanoi on June 6 with a focus on Vietnam’s entry to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

Minister of Trade Truong Dinh Tuyen told NA deputies who are members of the commission about the results of bilateral negotiations between Vietnam and the US on the former’s entry to the WTO.

Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Dy Nien reported on Vietnam’s efforts to lobby for US Congressional approval of permanent normal trade relation (PNTR) status for Vietnam.

After hearing the two reports, participants discussed some contents of the issues.
