A Vietnam People’s Army delegation led by deputy Minister of National Defence lieutenant-general Nguyen Khac Nghien, paid an official visit to Belarus from June 24-21 at the invitation of his counterpart, Sergei Gurulev.

During the talks, the two representatives exchanged experiences in organising and building army forces, improving the quality of training and management and exploiting technological equipment.

The Vietnamese delegation met with senior lieutenant-general Leonid Mantsev, minister of defence, who affirmed that the visit helps strengthen bilateral co-operation between the two countries and two armies. He highly valued Vietnam’s achievements in the renewal process and hoped that the army forces of the two countries will promote their bilateral co-operation.

During the time in Belarus, the Vietnamese delegation worked with the State Defence Industry Committee, the Military Academy, and military technological research units, and viewed Stalinist cultural and historic relics.
