A delegation representing 12 major businesses from Hanoi has met with their counterparts from Leipzig and Halle to seek out business opportunities on the sidelines of the Vietnamese European Business Forum held recently in Germany.

At the meeting, the President of the Hanoi Business Association, Nguyen Hong Son called on Leipzig businesses to increase their investment and economic and trade cooperation with Hanoi and pledged to create the best possible conditions for them to start businesses in the capital city.

With a total population of 6.2 million, Hanoi is in need of investment capital and economic cooperation with foreign partners in the fields of hi-technology, process industry, environmental protection, healthcare, education and to develop its infrastructure.

Dr. Michael Schimansky, an official in charge of economic issues in Leipzig said that he believed the meeting will open up new cooperation opportunities for Hanoi and Leipzig entrepreneurs to tap into the existing huge potential.
