The State and the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) has always put emphasis on maintaining and fostering the fine traditional relationship with Cambodia, said Huynh Dam, VFF Vice President and General Secretary.

Addressing the fifth Congress of the Kampuchean United Front for National Construction and Defence (UFCDK) of the Cambodian People's Party in Phnom Penh on April 29, Mr Dam stressed the need to intensify the two sides' co-operation through meetings and exchanges of representatives of the two countries’ fronts and peoples.

UFCDK Vice President Min Khun expressed thanks to the Vietnamese voluntary soldiers for helping the Cambodian people stop the Khmer Rouge's genocide.

Mr Dam was leading a delegation to attend the Congress, in which the UFCDK reviewed its operation in the past 15 years and designed its development in the coming time. At the congress, the UFCDK changed its name into the Solidarity Front for Development of the Cambodian Motherland (SFDCM).
