Remains of 48 fallen soldiers repatriated from Cambodia

(VOV) - The K52 team under Gia Lai province’s Military Command has returned the remains of 48 Vietnamese soldiers who sacrificed their life in Cambodia during the past war to their homeland.

Among them, 30 remains were discovered in late March 2014 at a cashew nut farm in Rattanakiri province. When digging an irrigation canal, local people found them and notified K52.

The K52 team expects to repatriate roughly 75 remains of Vietnamese soldiers during this dry season in north-east Cambodian provinces of Rattanakiri, Strung Treng and Pret Vihia.

Since 2001, the K52 team has returned 1,230 sets of remains of Vietnamese soldiers.
