The event marks the 40^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Switzerland.

Vietnamese ambassador to the Switzerland Hoang Van Nhan expressed his gratitude to the organizing board for helping set up the “Vietnam-the guest country” stand as a focal point of the exhibition which has nearly 580 stands put up by other countries across the world.

The stand has greatly contributed to promoting the mutual understanding and traditional cooperation between the two countries, he said.

Visitors to the Vietnamese stand can see the lively images of the country’s land and people through wood carvings and paper cutting pictures. They can also enjoy riding on a cyclo, eating spring rolls, noodles and buying different items of traditional handicrafts as souvenirs.

They will have the chance to watch fishermen from Long Hai district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, weaving a basket boat, regarded as unique heritage of Vietnamese fishermen.
