The meeting attracted many high-ranking officials from regional countries such as Cambodian Minister of Justice, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines, the ALA President, Vice President and Secretary General and representatives of eight ALA member countries – Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. This is the first time the VLA has held the largest meeting of ALA.

Participants at the meeting discussed law cooperation mechanism in order to develop ASEAN into a region of peace, friendship, cooperation and prosperity.

Seven ALA committees in charge of Judicial Cooperation, International Law, Legal Profession, Business Law, Legal Education, Legal Information, Alternative Dispute Resolution, also met on the occasion.
