Ireland contest winners announced

(VOV) - The Irish Embassy, in coordination with the Irish Chamber of Commerce and Giaoduc.net, announced the winners of a contest on Ireland, its people, and education system.

Between July 10 and October 22, the contest received 500 entries from Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad.

The organizing board awarded prizes to 20 outstanding entries that provided readers with useful information about the land, people, culture and education in Ireland.

Speaking at the awards ceremony in Hanoi on October 29, Irish Minister of Trade and Development Joe Costello said he was very impressed with the number of entries as well as their understanding of the European nation. He noted that there are many similarities between Ireland and Vietnam, especially the fact that both peoples attach great importance to family and culture.

Special prize winner Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung said the contest was an opportunity  for Vietnamese students at home and abroad to demonstrate their ability to seek out information and highlight their understanding of Irish people and culture.
