Trans-national drug trafficking ring busted
(VOV) - Border guards in Ha Tinh province, in collaboration with Lao police, have caught four suspects transporting 48 heroin cakes.
Provincial drug control force and police from Vientiane, Laos arrested three suspects having Thai nationality and one suspect having Lao nationality for purchasing and transporting drugs illegally.
Four suspects were caught red-handed in Vientiane, Laos on May 12. Police seized 48 heroin cakes, a car and other items.
Lieutenant Colonel Vo Trong Hai said Ha Tinh border guards along with Lao force carried out further investigation.
The trafficking ring regularly purchase and transport narcotics from Thailand to Laos, via Vietnam’s Cau Treo border gate to consume, he said.
