Tax lines and tariffs still need careful consideration but, according to commitments, most of the tax lines for sectors will be implemented after three years, said Trade Minister Truong Dinh Tuyen.

The Ministry of Trade, together with relevant ministries and agency, will officially announce Vietnam’s detailed commitments before joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO) by the end of this month.

Trade Minister Truong Dinh Tuyen said that the

agriculture sector and its distribution network will suffer most when Vietnam joins the world’s largest economic body due to tough competition. Domestic retailers will find it difficult to compete on their own ground, he noted.
