A list of 100 businesses to be granted the “top trade services award for 2009” was announced in Hanoi on January 19.

Under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the award aims to honour domestic and foreign invested businesses which specialise in trade, services and industry that have coped with and survived the impact of the global economic downturn.

Bui Duc Khiem, the organising board’s deputy head said that the criteria for businesses remain the same as last year. Their turnover and profit growth must increase by at least 8 percent over the previous year.

The award presentation was first held in 2007 and has become an important event in the Vietnamese business community calendar.

The awards ceremony will be held at the International Convention Centre at 11 Le Hong Phong, Hanoi on January 24 and broadcast live on VTV1.
