Vietnam will do its utmost to ensure the success of the third Asian Indoor Games (AIG III), said State President Nguyen Minh Triet.

While receiving the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah in Hanoi on October 30, Mr Triet expressed his hope that the OCA and other sports organisations to support Vietnam in hosting other regional sporting events. He said despite economic difficulties, Vietnam has poured a considerable amount of investment in sports.

Both host and guest shared the view that Asian sports have made a big leap in the recent times and will catch up with other continents soon.

OCA President Al-Sabah highly valued Vietnam’s efforts in preparing for AIG III as well as its involvement in major regional sports events as an active OCA member. He said the OCA wants to work closely with Vietnam to promote the development of sport in the country.

Al-Sabah, who is also Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait, said his government acknowledges the effective cooperation in infrastructure construction and energy with Vietnam.
