Relating to their tasks for 2007, President Nguyen Minh Triet asked all borderguards to well fulfil the border demarcation and marker planting along the borderline, prevent and fight crime, successfully implement the movement “Following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example”, and gain greater achievements to mark the 20^th anniversary of the All-people national Defence Day and the 50^th anniversary of the traditional day of the borderguards.

The State President urged officers and soldiers to uphold the glorious traditions of the borderguards in the process of building a strong all-people national defence and turning the borderline into one of peace and friendship with neighbouring countries.

President Triet also used the satellite telephone to talk to officials and soldiers of the three borderguard units in Tho Chu (southern Kien Giang province), Tuy Duc (Central Highland Dac Nong province) and Mong Cai (northern Quang Ninh province).
