HCM City issues flood warning

VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention is asking residents to prepare for potential flood conditions.

Watch for flooding over the next seven days, especially as the water levels of the Saigon and Cuu Long rivers are overflowing their banks, the Committee has announced.

The water level is expected to reach peaks of 1.65 metres at the Phu An Station on the Saigon River within the next two days, according to the Central Hydrometeorology Centre.

During this same two-day period the rivers are expected to see one of the largest tides of the year, said the Centre.

Particularly vulnerable locations include the following districts in the City: Districts 12, Binh Thanh, Thu Duc, Go Vap, Binh Chanh, Cu Chi and Hoc Mon.
