Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Vice Chairman of the Japan-ASEAN Cultural and Economic Exchange Committee, Yoshihiko Nagasaki, in Hanoi on November 14.

Deputy PM Phuc said he was pleased with the continued positive development of Vietnam-Japan relations. He also expressed his sympathy for the Japanese victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in March, but said he believes Japan will soon overcome the consequences of the tragic disasters.

Deputy PM Phuc emphasized that, during its process of industrialization, Vietnam attaches great importance to attracting foreign investment, particularly from Japan. The Vietnamese Government has committed to creating favourable conditions for Japanese businesses in Vietnam, particularly those operating in the fields of infrastructure, seaports, support industries, energy, health care, education, training, and environmental protection.

Vice Chairman Nagasaki praised Vietnam’s recent policies to stabilize its macro-economy and curb inflation. He expressed his hope that cooperation between the two countries will continue to develop well at the State and business levels in the future.
