Deputy PM affirms closer Vietnam-France cooperation

(VOV) - On April 15, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai hosted a reception for French Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the Promotion of Tourism and French Nationals Abroad Matthias Fekl
currently on a working visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, Deputy PM Hai appreciated the results of the third high-level annual Vietnam-France economic dialogue under the chairmanship of Matthias Fekl and the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment.

Hai described the dialogue as an opportune occasion for both sides to review and examine ways to promote stronger future cooperation.

The Deputy PM suggested the two sides should accelerate the implementation of joint projects including the“Vietnam Natural Resources, Environment and Disaster–monitoring Satellite” (VNREDSat-1); the Hanoi railway project (Nhon-Hanoi Station section); and the MoU between France's GDF Suez Group and Vietnam National Oil and Gas (PetroVietnam) Group.

Matthias Fekl in turn briefed his host on the working results with the Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment, noting that the two countries need to step up broader cooperation in aviation, satellite supply, energy, equipment and infrastructure in the future.
