PM reiterates support for historical science association

(VOV) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has affirmed Government support for all activities run by the Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences (VAHS) during his working session on December 30 in Hanoi.

PM Dung applauded the association’s achievements over the past years, especially in history research, appraisal, consultations, publication and dissemination of historical knowledge.

He said he hopes it will continue building on what it has achieved, better performing its functions and tasks, and working hand in hand with relevant agencies to develop the country’s historical sciences.

The Government leader also asked the VAHS to become more active in improving the operational efficiency and stepping up cooperation with international historian circles.

He heard proposals and opinions on the operational expenditure of the Vietnam History Development Fund.

Established in 1966, the VAHS is one of the first science associations in Vietnam with 4,000 members.

It now has 53 member associations in provinces, cities, agencies, ministries and universities.
