Fidel Castro Ruz, President of both the State Council and the Council of Ministers of Cuba, on July 5 congratulated Nguyen Minh Triet on his election as State President of Vietnam.
In his congratulatory message, President Fidel wrote: “We firmly believe that, under your leadership, the solidarity and friendship that help link our two governments and peoples will be constantly strengthened and consolidated”.
The same day, the Cuban leader extended congratulations to newly-elected Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dzung. In his congratulatory message, President Fidel re-affirmed the determination to intensify and expand the existing solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two governments and peoples.
