The number of cases of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) among children has increased in southern An Giang province. Since the beginning of the year, the province has reported 120 cases of HFMD, including 38 cases in Chau Phu district.

To cope with the disease, the provincial health department has asked people to keep children’s feet and hands, especially their toys and bedrooms clean. It has warned that when a child has such symptoms as fever and rash with blisters in hand or feet or mouth, he or she should be sent to hospital as soon as possible.
