The Vietnam Film Import-Export and Distribution Company (Fafilm Vietnam) has become the country sole distributor for the Hong Kong-based television firm TVB.
Local CD and VCD wholesalers will have to sign deals with Fafilm Vietnam to trade TVB products from September 2007.
Fafilm Vietnam said the move aims to cope with increasing piracy that has reduced its annual revenues from some VND60 billion (US$3.75 million) before 1998 to VND5 billion in recent years.
