By the afternoon of November 2, the water was receding slowly in Hoang Long and Luc Nam rivers, while waters flood in the Thuong, Cau and Thai Binh rivers continued to rise, according to the National Hydro-meteorological Forecasting Centre.

The centre said that by 4pm that day, the water level of the Hoang Long river at De wharf was measured at 4.51m, or 0.51m above alarm level 3. The water of the Luc Nam river in northern Bac Giang province reached 5.27m, 0.37, higher than alarm level 2. The Thuong river in Phu Lang Thuong was at 5.24m, 0.44m higher than alarm level 2, while the level rose up to 5.81m in the Cau river in Dap Cau, reaching alarm level 3. The water level of the Thai Binh river was 0.06m below alarm level 2 at 4.44m.

 

The water level in the Hoang Long river at De wharf is forecast to drop to 4.2m, or 0.2m above alarm level 3 on November 3. However, the water of the Cau river in Dap Cau will surge to 6m, or 0.2m above alarm level 3. The figures for the Thuong river in Phu Lang Thuong and Luc Nam river in Luc Nam district will rise to 5.5m, 0.3m less than alarm level 3. The water of the Thai Binh river in Pha Lai will reach 4.7m, or 0.2m higher than alarm level 2.

 

The flood situation is likely to become more so it is essential to keep a close watch for future flood warnings.
