The northern province of Son La’s cooperation with the Midi-Pyrenees region in France has not only been effective in poverty reduction, but also in socio-economic development in Son La, said a local official.

Vice Chairman of the Son La provincial People's Committee, Cam Van Doan, made the remark at a working session with a delegation from the Midi Pyrenees led by the Vice President of the Regional Council, Philippe Guerin, on November 2.


Mr. Doan highlighted the successful results of breeding dairy cattle on the Moc Chau plateau in Son La and expressed hope that his province will continue to receive further assistance from the Midi Pyrenees region.


For his part, Vice President Guerin proposed expanding on-going projects in

Son La.

The two sides agreed that they will further cooperation in the near future, especially in agriculture, human resource training and tourism.
