State President Nguyen Minh Triet on February 24 paid a New Year and working visit to northern Bac Ninh province where he offered incense in commemoration of the eight kings under the Ly dynasty and visited Que Vo industrial park.

Mr Triet praised the province’s great achievements in boosting socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security as great contributions to the process of Doi Moi (Renewal) and national industrialisation and modernisation.

Being a province endowed with revolutionary tradition and advantages to attract domestic and foreign investors, Bac Ninh should make the best of opportunities, iron out snags in mechanisms and policies, pool all of its resources in order to maintain rapid and sustainable development towards the target of becoming an industrialised province by 2015.

To reach that goal, Bac Ninh should reinforce national defence and political security, ensure necessary conditions and stability to meet requirements for domestic, regional and international integration, Mr Triet emphasised.

Bac Ninh should pay more attention to Party building in terms of politics, ideology and organisation by providing more training courses on domestic and international laws, professional skills and foreign languages for Party members and encouraging them to follow late President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example. Mr Triet also asked Party members in Bac Ninh to care for local people’s living standards, participate in patriotic emulation movements and boost poverty reduction.

On this occasion, the State President wished Bac Ninh people good health, happiness and prosperity in the new year.
