The seventh meeting of ASEAN Youth Ministers, the third ASEAN Plus Three (China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea) Youth Ministers, and the ASEAN Plus Three Youth Forum, will be organised in Vietnam from October 18-21.

This was announced by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee (HCYUCC) at a press briefing in Hanoi on October 17.

On the theme of developing young human resources – investment for the future, the seventh ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Youth is part of the ASEAN socio-cultural Community’s overall plan for the next five years.

At the meeting, ASEAN Youth Minister will discuss issues related to youth cooperation, and work out measures to promote the role of the youth in contributing to the establishment of an ASEAN Community by 2015.

Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Secretary of the HCYUCC, said this year’s meeting will focus on more specific topics.

The meeting will also issue a joint statement and a Hanoi initiative on developing young entrepreneurs and leaders.
